A successful exhibition!

Many thanks to all those who came to see our recent exhibition at the Wynd Gallery in Letchworth.

Myself and fellow artist, Caryl Beach, had a week long joint exhibition, titled ‘Thin Places’, which launched with a very successful Private View on 13th October and finished on Saturday 20th October.

The title of the exhibition was based on a concept that may be more familiar to our Celtic neighbours, of ‘thin’ places where the veil between the temporal and the spiritual worlds are tissue-thin, and in such places, we may be able to experience glimpses of the spiritual dimension.

Caryl and I both explore this concept, and what this means to us, in our work, always rooted in our experience of landscape, but touching on these shifts in perception, where mundanity gives way to mystery.

We are a co-operative gallery of 29 member artists, all local to Hertfordshire, and we are celebrating the fact that a year ago we first opened the doors to the public!

As well as a wide range of art, paintings, prints, jewellery, glass and ceramics, the exhibition includes unique hand-made postcards, for ‘sale’ for a suggested donation of £10, all proceeds in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth.

Herts Big Art Fair Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June

I am really looking forward to showing at Herts Big Art Fair, which is back for a second year during the ever-popular Hitchin Festival, following the highly successful launch of this new Art Fair for Hertfordshire in 2017.

Run by and for HVA members: artists and designer-makers from across Hertfordshire will display their work at the newly refurbished Hitchin Town Hall Saturday and Sunday July 14th and 15th.

Open to the public from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday, a number of exhibitors will be at the Fair during the weekend, offering unique opportunities to meet the artists themselves.
